It’s not unique to say that the holidays are my absolute favorite time of year. I love splashing holiday decorations everywhere throughout my house. As a storyteller, I feel as though I’m setting the stage where my family’s stories and future memories will take place. I want my friends and family to remember sitting by the fire, wrapping ourselves in cozy coats and blankets, admiring glittering lights, and enjoying wonderful dinners and desserts.
So here’s a little peek at my home dressed for the holidays this year.
I’m so thrilled to finally be able to drape a staircase with garlands
There’s a small scene of skating snow fairies hidden on top of the curio cabinet that can only be truly appreciated from the stairs.
Our holiday table ready for a feastMy candy cane themed tree went perfectly with the shower curtain we got for my son’s bathroom when we moved here.Where visions of sugar plums dance in our heads
Finding Christmas ornaments that match your shower curtains is too good to pass up!Thus, a Winter Wonderland themed bathroom was born. This tree has been with me my whole life, and I love being able to gather my own family around it now. An artificial tree sounds like a strange thing to grow attached to, but this tree has been part of my holiday celebrations for my entire life, and each time it comes out of its box I’m always proud and relieved to see that it’ll be around for yet another year. And we keep our fireplace crackling with a cozy fire in the evenings.
I hope you’ll share some of your holiday decorations and traditions with me. What’s the one thing you look forward to the most at the end of each year?
